Disney To Release Original Josh Trank Cut of Fantastic Four
By John Byrne

After the dumpster fire known as Dark Phoenix was put out by moviegoers’ complete lack of interest, the Walt Disney Company is set to say goodbye to the Simon Kinberg-led X-Men universe – ready to move the mutants into the Marvel Conematic Universe. But before the Fox Marvel heroes sail into the sunset, there is one last redemption at hand.

Disney announced yesterday that FANT4STIC: The NFUBSK Cut will be released on 4K, Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming on September 10, 2019. While details are sparse on what will be included on the discs, what is known is that the NFUBSK cut, short for “The Not Fucked Up By Simon Kinberg Cut,” will contain director Josh Trank’s original vision of the movie.

The NFUBSK Cut will contain the original vision of Trank’s film before it was horribly massacred. Trank had previously tweeted on Twitter in a now deleted tweet, “A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would’ve seen great reviews. You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though.” Now through the painstaking process of taking one’s head out of your ass, Fantastic Four fans will finally be able to see this fantastic version on the small screen.

“We are happy that Fantastic Four fans will finally be able to see this fantastic version on the small screen,” reiterated Disney Home Video publicist Bob Eisner. “We all see how well these films do under Simon Kinberg, so we are happy to see how well they do when he’s less involved.”

FANT4STIC: The NFUBSK Cut, with all of the story and action not seen in the theatrical version, will land on September 10.
