I had never heard of Argo 5 but I randomly friended creator Dan Sehn on Facebook because we had lots of the same friends.  We instantly bonded since both Argo 5 and my comic Philly both guest starred Rich Bernatovech’s Sentinels characters (though the Sentinels issue of Philly won’t be seen until 2018).  Dan is truly an amazing guy and we talked some comics for a long while.  Dan’s been publishing Argo 5 for a number of years now and currently has a Kickstarter for an Argo 5 collection that will collect the first six issues of Argo 5 (issues 0-5).

“The Argo 5 comic series is chock full of superhero action but additionally delves into the social relationships of the characters,” the Kickstarter reads.  “The team faces aliens, demons, mythological deities and bad dates! The story starts with the formation of the team as seen in issue 0 and takes us into their adventures from there.”

WHO ARE ARGO 5? Gladiatra is the super-powered and stern team leader. Her boyfriend Shazrath, is the Maltese god of strength. Sci-fi fan, Blue Dynamo, has the power of a blue star. Chain Reaction is a martial arts master with the ability to set in motion actions to bring about a desired result (but also the inability to not act like a jerk sometimes) and Kasira is half-human and half-genie trying to find her place in this world. Billionaire Denny Dennis backs the group even setting them up in their own space station.

The zero issue is actually available for free over on Indy Planet.  I downloaded it straight away and had a wonderful time with the book.  I also can’t believe the talent that has worked on the book with Sehn like Terry Dodson and Rob Liefeld.  Sehn truly makes me jealous as he has produced this successful comic for so many years.  If I’m pissed about anything it is that it has taken me this long to discover Argo 5.

You can check out the Kickstarter for Argo 5 right here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/28385573/argo-5-trade-paperback

With a couple days to go the Kickstarter is damn close to reaching its goal.  If you love indy books, indy superheroes, indy creators, great stories, and kickass artwork then Argo 5 really is for you.  Go support a great creator and discover this fantastic book for yourself.

And Dan – when you are ready for a crossover with Philly just let me know. 🙂
