I was sneaking around Kickstarter when this particular book just caught my eye.  I had never heard of Lacey & Lily but the description and artwork really drew me right in.

According to the Kickstarter: “Lacey & Lily is a comic book series about a middle schooler and her dog who, after finding a pair of super suits, keep their city safe from super-villainy, disaster, and bullies. This is an all-ages comic that blends the fun of silver-age silliness and pure heroics with modern storytelling in a format that is suitable for kids of all ages.”

It goes on to tell me that Lacey & Lily was created by illustrator Andrew Cieslinski and writer Dave Dellecese.

The premise seems quite simple: girl finds super suits, dresses herself and her dog in the super suits, receive magical powers, then go off to save the day.  I dig the plot a lot.  Maybe it comes from all those years of watching Blue Falcon and Dynomutt the Dog Wonder.

I wish I had more to say on the book but as I’ve never read anything by Dellecese the only thing I really have to go by is what is on the Kickstarter.  But the book looks like a ton of fun and if you are into this kind of book (like I am) it may be worth checking out Lacey & Lily and contributing to the Kickstarter.
